Over the past year, the role of health leadership has been in the spotlight as the effect of health leaders’ decisions has been observed and scrutinised. With the increasing demands on health services, rapidly changing context, and the adoption of technological innovations, health systems and organisations are having to revisit and adapt their leadership styles and strategies.
How are changes in healthcare impacting leadership? How to improve management and leadership in healthcare? How to engage clinicians as servant leaders for the organisation? How can healthcare leaders participate in preparing for the health systems of the future?
We will give answer to these important questions during the EHMA 2021 Plenary Session ‘Leadership for the future of healthcare’, on Thursday, 16 September 2021 at 11.45 – 13.00.
The session will be opened by Ms Izabela Grape, Chairman of Breast Cancer Society Amazona in Stockholm, a membership organisation of people diagnosed with breast cancer and others related to diagnosed persons. To follow, we are honoured to have renowned speakers taking part in this panel discussion. Dr Melitta Jakab, Head of Office of the WHO European Centre for Primary Health Care, will bring forward the perspective of the primary care sector. Dr Björn Zoëga, CEO at the Karolinska University Hospital and Ms Annamaria Müller, President of the Board of Directors of HFR Friborg Hospital, will present the perspective of hospitals. While, Dr Marius Ungureanu, Chief of Staff of the Minister of Health of Romania, will present the perspective of local authorities.
